WordPress 3.0 has been out for some time now and it is supposed to offer a very large number of improvements over the old version.

I hesitated to upgrade right away because I wanted to wait for all the bugs between WP3.0 and the Arras theme to be worked out before I attempt it. I feel that it has been long enough and there doesn’t seem to be too much problem reports on the Arras forums, so I will be doing the upgrade soon.

I don’t expect a lot of problems (most upgrades of WP, Arras, and any plugins have gone very smoothly so far), however, I did try Arras 1.4.3 some time ago and I found out that they changes enough of the theme that just re-applying my modifications did not make it look like the site looks now. What that means is that the site will change it’s look after the upgrade of both WP and Arras.

I will continue making my changes to get the look back to where I want it to be but it will be a continuous process so you might seem incremental changes as my work progresses.

Update [07/27/2010]: The site upgrade is done. In fact, it happened much faster then I thought. Both WordPress and the theme were updated in less then 10mins and I took another 10 to reapply all the customization changes. Enjoy the new site.
