First trackday of the year at ThunderHill Raceway

This past weekend we (a couple of friends and I) did our first track day of the year. We went to ThunderHill Raceway with Keigwins@TheTrack and we had a blast. This was the first time I rode the Aprilia on a track and I finally know why people are praising it so much for it’s racing abilities.The bike was absolutely awesome on the track and after I had the suspension dialed in a bit, it was razor sharp. On top of that, the weather turned out to be really nice. Even though the forecast said it would be cloudy, the afternoon turned out to be warm and sunny, which made the track even nicer and warmer.

Below is a video that I took with my ContourHD helmet cam. It is taken at full 1080p HD quality but I had to resize it to 1280×720 when transcoding it to make it a little easier to load over the Web. Regardless, the file is rather large, so please, allow for some of it to buffer before playing. Also, I am sorry about the sound, the ContourHD has a built-in mic but it is not very good at filtering out wind noise.
