For a couple of weeks now, my sister has been telling me to set the weekend of Feb 27th aside for something “secret”. It was to be my birthday present but she would not tell me what it was. Of course, I tried to guess – unsuccessfully – several times but no matter what I could have guess, I would have never gotten it right.
We are going to LA to see Astral Projection Live!!!
Astral Projection has been one of my favourite “bands” ever since I first heard their sound back in college. I say “bands” because, I am not sure they are classified as a “band”. It’s two guys from Israel, who make some of the best Goa Trance I’ve ever heard.
I first heard their sound back in college when I came across some of their MP3s. As soon as I heard them, I have to find all their music. I spent almost six months tracking down their CDs (at the time, they weren’t that popular in the US and the few music store that had them in their catalogue was out of stock). Finally, I found six of their albums at an online music store in the Netherlands.
Ever since then, I have been a huge fan of them and I have always wanted to see them live. Well, thanks to my great sister, my dream is coming true at the end of the month. We are going down to LA and going to a show, which among other DJs will feature Astral Projection. On top of that, the next day, we’ll hang out with my best friend from my college days and his family. That weekend will be awesome.
